Broadly speaking, the turbine operation is based on a fluid (air, gas, mixtures…) which is conveyed through special passages enabling it to expand and convert part of its pressure and movement energy into useful work.

Single and double stage side channel blowers have an electric motor directly coupled to the blower body, the rotors are splined to the motor shaft and bearing on the outer cover.

The whole product is a one-piece die-cast aluminum unit. No lubrication is required to keep the fluids clean.

The working principle of the blower is simple: a fan, equipped with small vanes, rotates inside a stator, which is a fixed external part.
During the movement the centrifugal force and the rotation create small air vortices that are dragged, thanks to the vanes, from the suction towards the exhaust.

There are no parts in contact, so the turbines do not need ordinary maintenance; however, they can work non-stop only within certain pressure ranges, because the sucked air is also used for cooling.
For this reason, vacuum and pressure relief valves must be installed in order to preserve the motor that rotates the turbine.

The technical advantage of the side channel solution is the increase in pressure of sucked gas, thanks to vortices in the peripheral toroidal channel.

During the helical motion the gas is recompressed, leading to a linear increase in pressure along the channel.
This product is very versatile and mechanically very robust.
When used as a compressor, the outlet flow is clean and pulsation free.

These innovative side channel blowers are primarily designed for biogas, air, methane and technical gases treatment.
The sucked gas pressure is increased in the peripheral toroidal channel, where the centrifugal thrust of the rotor leads to the creation of vortices.
The impeller rotating blades push the gas forward and, due to the centrifugal force, also push it to the outside.

This creates a helical motion during which the gas undergoes a sequence of recompressions, caused by centrifugal force, with an increase in pressure along the channel.

In the two-stage versions, the second stage, with the impeller splined to the same shaft, receives the gas leaving the initial stage.

The possible combinations between single and double stage, with the different types of impeller and with the range of rotation speeds, allow these side channel blowers to cover a wide range of operating fields, ensuring the best technologies for each project.

Compact and modular design, absence of vibrations, ease of installation, impossibility of gas contamination, low noise level and absence of pulsations in the treated gas flow make these turbines extremely versatile.

ATEX, RoHS AND CE CERTIFICATIONS

When a product is destined to be used in a potentially explosive atmosphere due to the presence of gas or dust, if installed in a member country of the European Union, it must necessarily be certified according to the ATEX (ATmosphéres EXplosible) directive, regardless of where it has been manufactured.
The certified products must have a CE marking plate, specific marking of protection against explosions (Epsilon-x, in the hexagon) followed by group (I or II) and category; for group II the letter G is added for gas equipment while those for dust are identified by the letter D (Dust).
The EU RoHS regulation concerns restrictions on the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, in order to protect human health and environment; it also establishes the modalities for waste disposal and ecologically correct recovery.
The established constraints concern the following substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers. Our side channel blowers are all ATEX, CE and RoHS certified
